Aman Resorts Essay

Aman Resorts works at 26 one of a kind areas everywhere throughout the world, depicting â€Å"peace, uniqueness and family†. It targets high total assets people who like to be out of their typical way of life and make the most of their family time loose and in an unexpected way, away from the weights of work. Aman Resorts are situated in select serene areas and give a novel and confined understanding. Such uniqueness is the key upper hand against different retreats, which encourages it to hold a great deal of its steadfast recurrent clients. Notwithstanding the above uniqueness, Aman Resorts works admirably at making esteem just by tuning in to its customers. Clients like to be treated as people and appreciate how they are cared for, regardless of whether it’s the driver taking them to areas that would most intrigue them or to loading the refrigerator with the clients favored beverages. While this appears sound judgment, clients will like to go to Aman Resorts, and pay the premium for going there, despite the fact that their rooms are more straightforward and more costly than different hotels, for example, the Four Seasons. The customized administration further strengthens the main situation in its opposition against different hotels. Aman doesn’t have in excess of 40 rooms on normal at every area and no two hotels are similar, regardless of whether they are in a similar nation, which helps Aman order a superior cost and helps position itself as a top notch brand. In the interim, Aman Resorts supports its image power and depends intensely on verbal exchange and web based promoting to its devoted customer base, aversive to conventional methods for publicizing and giving limits. Be that as it may, getting familiar with the client should hypothetically be possible by any lodging dependent on what information is being accumulated. In the event that a lodging network sees that you generally drink Diet Coke out of the smaller than normal refrigerator, for instance, they can ensure that when you remain the ice chest is supplied. While this would be illogical for inns and low to center end lodgings, this would absolutely be useful for inns and resorts in a similar classification as Aman, for example, the Four Seasons or Ritz-Carlton, which could offer customized assistance notwithstanding present day comforts. We have recorded two potential difficulties to the Aman model. The first test is from likely clients in quite a while. China is a gigantic market for Aman. In China, individuals used to live in an extremely straightforward and characteristic life. However, as the economy has exponentially developed over the most recent thirty years, numerous individuals have procured an expanding measure of discretionary cashflow and are in more noteworthy need of exceptional spots for their get-away and recreation. Aman is without a doubt an incredible spot for them. Nonetheless, rearranged way of life may not be alluring to clients from developing markets like China and others in the remainder of Asia. That’s why a few clients even whined that there wasn’t even a TV in the room or remote web at some Aman areas, when the various lavish lodgings in the territory offer those as standard civilities for much lower room rates. We recommend that Aman give extravagance pleasantries, top notch food, and innovative gear and administrations to Chinese clients. As of now, Aman has just one retreat in Beijing, China. Aman can discover progressively incredible spots in the west of China, where there are extraordinary and one of a kind perspectives. As a rule, Aman can enhance a portion of the simple contributions in a portion of its areas by giving TV, internet providers and other present day comforts to clients who lean toward having them while remaining at their retreats. It could likewise normalize a portion of the basic contributions that a larger part of its clients have mentioned over the entirety of its hotels, to amplify steadfastness and thankfulness among them. The second test Aman faces is from contending resorts in the territory. An independant organization or a current hotel can generally make another retreat chain that offers comparable administrations to Aman with respect to wonderful areas and consideration regarding client assistance and undercut Aman on cost. While it might take them some time to make up for lost time to Aman’s status, they could hypothetically offer similar administrations in various areas.

1 IntroductionFor numerous more seasoned adults in Montreal, the capacity to make finishs and risks around their locale effectsly affects all aspects of their lives and every day exercises. So as to remain associated inside the network, versatility and handiness by organizations of open travel is of essential significance for more seasoned adults ( McPherson and A ; Wister, 2008 ) . It additionally guarantees that the individuals who can non drive as well as without course to a private auto are non rejected from the odds of urban life. As one of the cosmopolite metropoliss in Canada and with a significant figure of senior tenants, Montreal should ensure that open travel frameworks must non just speedily empower riders to make a trip starting with one completion then onto the next yet close to make it comprehensive and simple to use curiously for the individuals who face inconvenience in getting to it, for example, the more seasoned adults. What do we cognize about open travel request s of seniors in Montreal? What has been attempted to go to their requests? So as to comprehend these requests, this paper expects to talk the supporters: ( 1 ) the significance of open travel and its subsequent difficulties to more established adults ; ( 2 ) current examples in open theodolite benefits in Montreal ; ( 3 ) design rules and quality based assault to go through stipulation ; and, ( 4 ) alternative assaults to go through stipulation for more seasoned adults in the metropolis.2 Importance of open theodolite and difficulties to more established adults in MontrealMontreal, in contrasting with the rest of Quebec, has a more noteworthy per centum of more seasoned adults in its populace. The 2001 nose check informations shows that Montreal has 442,684 more seasoned adults stand foring 13 for each centum of the populace and loaning 46 for every centum for Quebec ( Hodge, 2008 ) . This figure will proceed to turn in the coming mature ages as it is normal that one in each four Ca nadian will be 65 or over. Around 101,190 seniors in Montreal have at any rate one signifier of disablement which incorporates inconvenience visual discernment, hearing, correspondence, and strolling, among others. Beside sing physical harms, 28 for each centum of them live under destitution and 18 for every centum do non hold course to a private auto ( Landreville and A ; Bickerstaff-Charron, 2010 ; TCAIM, 2009 ) . As seniors will in general hold inconveniences runing a private auto, using open travel so gets essential for guaranting their capacity to make their desired finishs. A Significance of open travel The use of open travel is a cardinal to network commitment, productiveness, and independency for more seasoned adults, especially the individuals who can not, at this point drive or unfit to drive. Open theodolite administrations, which incorporate coachs and trains, are regularly their solitary choices for going freely to work, health consideration establishments, strip malls, and a large group of different finishs outside their places ( Marston, Golledge, and A ; Costanzo, 1997 ; McPherson and A ; Wister, 2008 ; TCAIM, 2009 ) . Transportation framework must be available in a collection of signifiers to run into the requests of more seasoned adults. Beside providing coachs, trains and other particular theodolite administrations, legitimate asphalts with equivalent signage and without obstructions to strolling are other than imperative for seniors. When travel administrations are accessible, seniors should other than have the option to course it simple and securely. Open travel other than assists with showing signs of improvement of separation in condition of affairss where seniors dwell a long way from urban focuses or where networks have hardly any accessible establishments and administrations. For more seasoned adults, the capacity to use travel is both an organization and a terminal: an office to course administrations and establishments while satisfying their craving non to be detached ( Hodge, 2008 ) . Difficulties in using open travel and orderly effects on more seasoned adults Seniors much of the time face difficulties in using open theodolite which is brought around by their physical harms and the way nature is developed. It is noticed that more established adults comprise a significant extent of individuals with some sort of harm or disablement comparable to travel requests ( TRB, 2004 ) . These harms as often as possible have genuine findings in footings of portability and course to chances in the city. An issue connected in urban nations concerns uplifting handiness to travel utilization among more seasoned adults without trading off security given that physical occupations will in general increment as one ages ( Titheridge, Achuthan, Mackett, and A ; Solomon, 2009 ) . More established grown-up females further endure double bias in using open travel both on the confirmations of sexual orientation and harm ( Venter, et Al. 2002 ) . The way that open transport exists is of class only one segment of the picture. Existing roadways, trite establishments at Michigans and Stationss, and mass-travel vehicles were all things considered non structured with the matured in head. Or maybe, they depend on a ‘normal ‘ singular one assuming that the client is a capable and to the full educated single. Open travel use requires physical and psychological capacities that may aside from certain seniors, for example, the strolling separation expected to the mentor end or Metro station are long and additionally include steep grades. Unwavering quality of theodolite motivation, long holding up times, the interest to mount high stepss all through the mentor, and, travel driver ‘s competency in fitting senior riders are among the difficulties that more seasoned adults experience in using open travel. There is an interest to influence upon travel applied researchers and contrivers, strategy shapers, urban contrivers a nd theodolite providers the significance of the ‘one-size-doesn't fit-all ‘ premiss refering the stipulation of travel administrations and base. In impossible to miss, these chiefs have an obligation to build up a superior anxiety of the highlights of more seasoned individuals on the balance of which advancements can be made. Guaranting that more established adults can be migrant with relative effectiveness in metropoliss will be one of the cardinal difficulties for contrivers as the urban populace becomes more seasoned. Declining versatility among seniors can be clarified by numerous components including physical ( Dis ) capacities, financial assets, and individual picks, yet the structure of their regions and the separations between finishs can other than follow up on their movement picks and practices. Many years of travel and land use arranging that supported the vehicle over other versatility habits like strolling or open travel is a main consideration that can put impediments on the portability of seniors who do non drive, or only here and there do so ( Cao, Mokhtarian, and A ; Handy, 2007 ; Hodge, 2008 ) . Moreover, the failure to dish to open travel would take to bring down risks of going outside the spot. For the individuals who used to drive, discharging their driver ‘s permit have a highe r risk of sadness unconventionally more established work powers ( McPherson and A ; Wister, 2008 ) . These issues essentially lead to their avoidance from making wanted finishs and exercises and to socially interface with others outside their places which in twist could loan to debasement in their nature of life.3 Transportation framework alternatives to suit more established grownupsEven however the vehicle is the vehicle of pick for making grouped finishs, networks across Canada are endeavoring to run into the travel requests of seniors who do not push anymore or have constrained their drive to the light, the region, or an individual completion. Given the squeezing interest for progressively antiphonal and manageable travel administrations, nearby and national travel departments have built up a figure of exchange habits to run into the movement requests of more established adults. The undermentioned sums up the blend of travel choices that would give their requests ( embed beginni ngs ) : Vehicle: singular rider, shared drive Open travel: low-floor coachs, network fowls, trains/trams Request responsive para-travel administrations Private theodolite: taxis, limousines, chauffer administrations Particular theodolite: medical clinic based theodolite plans, interfaith and church-based plans, volunteer travel plans Different choices: low-speed vehicles, walking4 Current region of theodolite stipulation for more established adults in MontrealThe Societe de Transport de Montreal ( STM ) which is the central theodolite department of the island has outfitted itself in bettering the entire open travel framework to run into the requests of the populace. STM has embraced a corporate strategy on cosmopolitan handiness so as to chop down the figure of boundaries hindering individuals with useful harms from using its open theodolite web ( STM, 2009b ) . The Master Plan of the City of Montreal purposes to elevate the perceptual experience and picture of open travel so as to advance its use ( Ville.de.Montreal, 2002 ) . Open infinites around tube, passenger train and multi-purpose Stationss, curiously the holding up nations, warrant specific going to ease dish and make a sheltered and lovely condition that fulfills the needs of each sort of client. Activity 14 of the Master Plan more remote underscored con figuration leads in the region of open travel course focuses unconventionally in footings of facilitating associations among coachs and tube. Actualizing cosmopolitan handiness arrangements is one way of progressing cultural incorporation in the use of open travel and course to buildings. The Transportation Plan of Montreal other than referenced cosmopolitan course as a framework wide build which is evident through the sending of enunciated or low-floor coachs and providing on-request para-travel administrations ( Transport Adapte ) for fragile seniors and different riders with practical harms. In 2008, STM propelled a particular mentor administration in August 2008 called Navette Or ( Golden Shuttle ) . This bus administration currently works in 10 unique regions in Montreal and makes Michigans at areas near high groupings of more seasoned individuals ( including seniors homesteads ) each piece great as at areas esteemed to be of

The Slavery Of The United States - 1710 Words

As far back as we reach, the keeping of slaves/ servants has been a part of civilization, and make no mistake, civilization only. Prior to that, there was no need since life was simple; hunt, gather and eat was the way to go. At the time, a slave would have been simply another mouth to feed, and they would have had to hunt as well. The â€Å"need† for slaves comes as man â€Å"civilizes† and reaches out for cheap labor. But Slavery as we know it now is not at all as it was in the past. Slaves in Babylon were allowed to own land; slaves in Greece and Rome were afforded privileges based on their status, and was mostly owned by the state. While there were incidences of cruelty, for the most part they were isolated. The Muslims kept slaves as well, and while the Qur’an doesn’t speak against it directly, it espouses good treatment of them and in particular the females. There is altogether no comparison in the way these slaves were kept and treated as op posed to in Christian Communities. Unlike many other peoples that left their homelands in search of haven or reprieve, the Africans that first landed on American soil did not get here by their own devices or will. They were taken, bound and brought here forcibly. Yes the very first were indentured laborers who were freed after their terms, but most were not. For more than 350 years slavery plagued this nation, and still today there is no real way to measure the true psychological effect on the African American community. Les Brown-You Deserve Essay Example

Les Brown-You Deserve Paper I’m going to start off by saying I’m a huge fan of Mr Brown. I believe he is a great motivator with a dynamic personality. Years ago, Mr Brown was the keynote speaker at one of my family reunions. His speech, although tailored to family, was mainly about the power we have as individuals to achieve personal greatness. I’m not the only one who left that reunion feeling better about myself and my family as awhole. When we watched the speech in class, I was pleasantly surprised. I’ve heard of the You Deserve seminar but had never heard it myself, so I was excited to be able to watch it in class. I was not disappointed at all. This speech basically talked about the fact that we deserve greatness and how we can achieve it. Mr Brown talks about how we are in fact our own worst enemies when it comes to achieving our goals. There is nothing anyone can say to or about you, positive or negative, that will change who you are unless you let it. As a young man who grew up misdiagnosed as educably mentally retarded and held back in school not once but twice, I’m sure Les Brown wasn’t the most confident student. But, while everyone else had given up on him, Mr Brown met a man who let him know that the label given to him didn’t define him. With that knowledge, Mr Brown has become a success who uses his successes to create success in others. The speech reached me in ways that may not have reached others. I find that I am always my worst enemy when it comes to reaching my goals. It’s not a lack of confidence but a penchant of making excuses and not going all the way in trying to achieve my goals. It’s almost like become afraid of my actual potential. I don’t like having that â€Å"what if† feeling, and unless I do something about it, that’s the way stuff is going to be. I will once again say that Mr Brown is a magnificent motivator, but the truth of the matter is once you see this program, and apply what you’ve learned, your life will change by leaps and bounds. But, you have to actually put in the work to do so. Otherwise, you could have the knowledge and do nothing about it. What a waste that would be.

Leith Hamilton in Domino Movie

Leith Hamilton in Domino Movie The paper is an examination of the movie Domino produced by Slva Basmajian and Shanti Thakur in 1995. The movie generally makes the viewers understand the stories about six individuals who are from different racial origins.Advertising We will write a custom essay sample on Leith Hamilton in Domino Movie specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More It explores the major issues of identity, cultural isolation as well as searching for community. Despite the fact that there is one major ‘race’, the individuals from interracial origin seem to undergo a number of serious experiences as they are categorized, bringing a challenge to them while trying to embrace the cultures of their parents. In the video Domino, the theme comes out clearly through the personal accounts of the actors. Each among them Hamilton recount the manner with which their identity was affected by what their parents went through, politics within the family as well as hie rarchies issues relating to race, gender as well as social class. Social structures are patterned social arrangements that form a society which differently determines the kinds of actions persons take within a socialized setting. One major social structure that dictated the situation in which Hamilton was in while he was a child was the family social economic status. It is worth noting that such social stratification played a major role on how he was interacting with others. Hamilton in most cases had a rough time interacting with children of pure Chinese or black decent only because he was interracial. Being from a mixed racial origin, this factor was used to classify his family. It was only those individuals that were deemed ‘pure’ to hold the upper social class hence a stronger economic status (Video Domino). Additionally, it is worth noting that being of a Chinese and an African decent he was often in pain of deciding what culture to follow while carrying on with hi s day to day activities. There are instances that he felt like taking an action driven by cultures and norms from the Chinese background. Similarly his skin colour played a major part in his life especially during interaction with others. He was neither black nor Chinese and this worked against his abilities to easily interact with other children without being prejudiced.Advertising Looking for essay on art and design? Hamilton noted that there are a number of children who will adopt one racial background over the other despite the fact that they are interracial and work hard to be strong with regards to such a racial background. However whatever it is done in the outside nothing happens inside such individuals. Although am not from an interracial backg round, I happened to have a close friend while I was in elementary school whom parents were of Korea and Africa origin. Being her close friend I noted with concern the sad experiences she was going through. Some students used to scold her based on her racial background. There were incidences where she was not allowed to play with other students; this made her sad. As her friend I played a bigger role in making others stop to a certain degree from scolding her. She used to confide to me how she was being torn between following her mother’s or father’s norms and beliefs. From the review of the film Domino it has been established that individual from interracial background undergo painful and mixed experiences. A social structure dictates realms of individual possibilities. Work Cited Domino: Interracial People and the Search for Identity. Dir. Shanti Thakur. Prod. Slva Basmajian and Shanti Thakur. DVD. The ideal person Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words

The ideal person - Essay Example Shu represents Confucius’ golden rule, which warned against imposing on others what you did not want to be imposed upon you. The virtue refers to empathy whereby, an ideal person has the ability to view situations from other people’s perspectives without rendering harsh judgments from their personal appraisals of the situation. Closely related to this virtue is the concept of Zhong (loyalty), which implies that social roles define one’s moral duties. Confucius believed that an empathetic person possessed the ability to embrace people’s different perspectives, which resulted from their differing social roles (Riegel, 2008).Xiao referred to filial piety, which encompassed dimensions of social relations ordered in a hierarchy. These relations included ruler and the people, husband and wife, father and son, elder brother and younger brother, and older friend and younger friend. According to Confucius, an ideal person had the ability to respect those on the low er side of the hierarchy such as wife, younger friend or brother. In addition, proper functioning of the social relations constituted societal harmony (Riegel, 2008).Wen referred to leisurely activities undertaken by individuals; for example, music or arts. According to Confucius, individuals should embed moral themes in these activities, as it added societal value to these activities. He inferred that individuals should avoid engaging in creative pursuits that do not mirror any virtues (Riegel, 2008).

Evidence based practice - Assignment Example Journal of General Internal Medicine, 28(3), 436-443. doi:10.1007/s11606-012-2234-y Teams of 3-4 members made site visits between 2008 and 2009 where they conducted interviews. They came from diverse backgrounds. Before the interviews, the researchers went through training on how to carry out the interviews. The interviews followed a standard interview guide. The researchers audio-recorded the interviews and later transcribed the audio recordings. After the interviews, there were debrief sessions involving a psychologist. Data analysis was in two stages. The first stage employed the constant comparative method, which involved coding teams of six members. Each member reviewed transcripts independently and then they later compared their results before coming to a consensus. The second stage involved teams of three members. They used a focused analysis to reanalyze the data. There were ten main codes and eighteen sub-codes. Through the constant comparative method, the researchers analyzed thematic differences between hospitals depending on their performance. They used the ATLAS.TI Scientific Software, version 6.2 to analyze the codes they developed. The study was an exploratory type and therefore it was not possible to generalize the findings. Lower-performing hospitals also lack the ability to organize for PCP follow-up. There was also a risk that the participants may have made misrepresentations during the interviews. The authors concluded that the findings of the study conform to their previous theories about the improvement of the care for patients with AMI. Efficient communication and coordination across different fields is the key to the achievement of high quality discharge. The survival of patients after AMI may be dependent on specific discharge planning processes. The results of the research would be of great benefit especially in the provision of comprehensive discharge care. The research identifies

Brookliyn Bridge Essay Example for Free

Brookliyn Bridge Essay Arthur millers a view from the bridge is set in a slum side in red hook, which faces the bay on the seaward side of Brookliyn Bridge in New York. The background to the conflict is built around a working class couple (Eddie and Beatrice Carbone) and their niece (Catharine.) The small Family also had help from two of Beatrices cousins from Italy (Marco and Roldopho) to obtain the Conflict and perhaps push main character Eddie Carbone to the end of his tether. Marco and Roldopho had travelled from Europe of which, at this point of time had still been suffering from the political and financial effects of World War 2. Europe was very poor at this point of time because during the war the tax prices had risen to pay for military supplies, however Marco and Rodolfo travelled to America for a better chance to survive. Whilst Marcos aims where purely to support his wife and growing family in Italy, Roldopho had planed to buy a motorcycle to satisfy his shallow needs. Catherine, on the other hand, lives with Eddie and Beatrice because her mother died in a tragic event.. So Eddie has taken on a father figure in her life (even though he is not her biological father) and he treats her like his own child. But when we read more into the book we learn that eddies loves Catherine in more than a father and daughter way. So when Marco and Rodolfo turn up at their flat in the 1940s Catherine takes a liking to Rodolfo, so I feel that Eddie is building up with jealousy and gets more and more physically and sexually attracted to Catherine. So the fact that Eddie has become more and more physically and sexually attracted to Catherine the relationship between Eddie and Beatrice even though they are married is going down hill. I think this is because Eddie is thinking about Catherine most of the time or even all of the time. This means that there is a lot of tension between the two of them we can tell there is a lot of tension between them as when Beatrice decides to show Eddie affection Eddie sustains and is always too distracted by the thought of Catherine and Rodolfo. So Eddie creates a lot of tension by trying to control Catherines life. When the attraction between Catherine and Rodolfo gradually becomes a love relationship Eddie learns to know this and he then trys to end their relationship. But in trying to do this Eddies true feelings about Catherine start to appear in the play. Eddies dislikes Rodolfo as he is blonde, sings and makes dresses and eddies wants a man for Catherine but Rodolfo in eddies eyes is not a man. Eddie thinks that Rodolfo is not a man because he does not have a family to provide for and because he spends his first set of wages on a new jacket, meanwhile Marco is sending money back to italy/cill for his family. The money Marco sends to Italy Sicily gets some medicine for his son. This gives Eddie enough treason to not like Rodolfo so towards the end of the act Eddie goes to speak to alfieri nd this really shows the reader that Eddie is getting desperate to have his chances with Catherine and to be rid of Rodolfo. But Alfieri sees that Eddy has way too much love for Catherine and tells him to let her go thats my advise  you did your job now its her life wish her luck and let her go because theirs no law Eddie make up your mind to it the law is not interested in this. But Eddie cannot let her go and he cannot accept that he cannot control her anymore. But then Alfieri tries to reason with Eddie and calm him down but when Alfieri suggests that Eddie is in love with Catherine Eddie doesnt like his feelings being talked about so then alfieri asks Eddie she cant marry you can she? and Eddie replies whatre you on about? Marry me! I dont know what the hell you are talking about! The beginning of the play starts off with a little speech from Alfieri about the end before it even happens. This scene is quite important as it tells us a little about the play and what it is going to be about. The play is a tragedy as it starts off with a normal couple living with a niece and then one of the couples cousins comes to them for shelter from Italy. But one of the cousins falls in love with Catherine (the niece). So as the relationship between them get stronger the love from Eddie to Catherine gets stronger and Eddie wants more from the relationship that he cannot get. This builds up a load of tension between them, which eventually turns into a tragedy. Arthur miller creates moments of intense conflict in this act by making the characters use a lot of jealousy among them, which creates moments of intense conflict. Some of the moments of intense conflict is when Eddie challenges Rodolfo to a boxing match and ends up really punching him. (Maybe to take his anger out on him) and also when Marco challenges Eddie to a chair lift with one hand. Eddie cannot do this but when Marco succeeds in doing this the look in Marcos eyes are giving Eddie a little message. I think the message Marco is giving to Eddie is if you pick on my little brother you will have to pass me first! Maybe I am wrong but thats how his look seemed to me.

The Endangered Species Act of 1973 :: Conservation Biology Wildlife Essays

The Endangered Species Act of 1973 The Endangered Species Act of 1973 is one of the most powerful tools that environmentally concerned citizens have to preserve biodiversity. Specific categories that the Endangered Species Act (ESA) includes are the listing of "Threatened species", "Endangered species", and the designation of "critical habitat". When these categories are identified, it is the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) which assumes the responsibility of enforcement. Development of recovery plans, Biological or Environmental Assessments, and the development of Habitat Conservation Plans are just some of the tasks for USFWS (Smallwood, et al,). This act which was originally enacted in 1973, and its’ reauthorization, is now going through quite a bit of debate. The ESA has actually been awaiting reauthorization from Congress since 1995 (Reid, 1995). There are two main "ideas" for bills to effect the ESA. There are bills that will strengthen the Act by emphasizing endangered species recovery over extinc tion risk. The other bills will weaken the Act by bringing more attention to the needs of businesses and landowners (Brown, et al). The main controversy seems to arise from economic and social concerns. There is also a great deal of scientific concern about the accurate implementation of this "species-saving" act. I was recently alerted to the economic ramifications of this Act through a local issue I have been "looking into". My frustrations mounted when I learned the USFWS gave an "OK" to developers, to bulldoze through a pristine habitat in my community. Seeing that six threatened and endangered species make their home here, I couldn’t understand why the USFWS had backed down. The answer, which seems all too common was, the USFWS simply doesn’t have enough money to effectively protect these species at this time. Consequently the majority of my paper will focus on some of the economic issues the ESA is faced with. Question number one is "How effective has the ESA been?" This question is difficult for both scientists and government officials to answer. Most agree that the amount of time since the ESA was enacted is really too short of a time period to impartially answer this question. I will attempt to point out some of the facts. "Since the inception of the Act in 1973, 11 species of more than 1,000 listed have recovered and have been removed from the list, including the eastern states brown pelican, Utah’s Rydberg milk-vetch, and the California gray whale" (Brown, et al, 1998).

The Confucian Ethics Essay - 1552 Words

Confucianism is a system of ethics and philosophy developed by Confucius and his disciples. For two millenniums, the Chinese people emphasized Confucian ethics as the superior source of inspiration for human interaction at all levels between individual, subject and ruler. His philosophy was predominant in the heart of Chinese education, governance and moral ethics. Confucianism established the moral standard and ethical ideals in East Asia by creating the fundamental structure of virtue. As a result, his philosophy on virtue was integrated with politics, religions, education and psychology to prevent political chaos and social disorder (Yao 34-35). Confucius was born in Ch’u-fu in 551 B.C., a small feudal state of Lu and lived in the†¦show more content†¦In his forties and fifties, he served first as a magistrate. Furthermore, he became assistant minster of public works, and toward the end of his career as minister of justice in the state of Lu. At fifty-six, Confuc ius realized that his political career was at a stalemate when his superiors were uninterested in his polices (Slote and De Vos 9). Hence, he set out on a journey with his student to reshape the values and structure of Chinese statecraft, education and social organization (McGraw 174). Confucius lived in a period of turmoil when the Zhou Kings power diminished which caused the rise of strong and powerful states. As individual states become hunger for wealth and power, they ignored the order of the central government and competed with one another for a bigger share of land and property. Thus, an all out war broke out within the states. The old order was deteriorating as the new one was advancing. People were left in endless suffering and misery, while the gap between rich and poor widens. Meanwhile, Confucius saw through the corruption within the state and believed that it was his duty to restore the value of ritual and to propagate the rules of propriety. He believed that chaos and disorder developed from the misuse and abuse of li and yue.
